Just when you thought the ocean was safe....

The 6-foot long crocodile that was in the water!  The Mexican firemen and coast guard came to capture it and get it out.

I went to the beach this morning to find everyone standing around and pointing.  I wondered if there was a hurricane coming, or a shark, etc.  NOPE.  It was a CROCODILE in the water!  I watched them pull it out!  They said it's not normal for that to happen and that they are usually scared of people.  Don't know if I believe that!

The plot thickens...

As we were trying to leave the resort yesterday to come here, we met another couple who was having the same difficulty.  We found them here yesterday, and find out that they paid NOTHING to switch, while we paid A LOT.  On top of the millions (it seems) that we already spent.

We are under the impression that we will get our money back, which is why we went ahead and paid.  We weren't wasting another day of our vacation.

I am furious.  Mom and Dad tried to call and they wouldn't even talk to them because they didn't have our credit card number.  Funny, because Roger didn't have that problem.

I cannot get in touch with the US reps, but I did talk to a lady in Cancun and she swears she will talk to a supervisor and get back to us.

We said we want extended time here (because this makes DAY THREE of this crap) as well as our money back.

Hope it will happen, but it's not looking optimistic.

Dad--please use your "attitude" to help us!

Video

I tried to upload a video, but it's not working.  I keep getting a Spanish error message.  I have no idea what it says. :)  I understand the word "error" though.  Can I load them right off of my camera, or do I need to convert them somehow?  Tish--you have to help me!

Vince is making me work out (what?) and then we will go eat and see the show.

Love to all!

Pictures!

Are you kidding me?
Beautiful!

Here are some pictures that we took today as we were at the beach and pool.  I wanted to add more pics of the room, but blogger is being slow.  Go to www.secretsresorts.com and click on Maroma Beach.  It will show pictures of the room.  It is amazing.

Weather was a little windy, but clear.  It was a good temperature.  Not too hot until the sun started blazing.  I think I've already taken 100 pictures, so this is just a few!

Will upload a video in a second (if I can figure it out).

Everything is right with the world!

We argued and argued and got nowhere, so we agreed to pay extra to stay at the best resort, the Secrets Maroma.  They said that they were going to go back and investigate the phone calls, etc. to see what someone told us.  That would take a while, so they couldn't guarantee anything until they finished that.  We weren't wasting anymore time, so we paid and got the heck outta there.  They did say that they would reimburse us if they found that we were right.  As we were leaving, the water and elevator went out in the hotel and Vince took a picture of them cutting the door off.  HA!  CONSTRUCTION!

This place is HEAVEN.  The most beautiful place in the the world.  Rooms are all marble, brand new (we are first people to stay in this room), concierge on the floor to help us with ANYTHING, an iPod dock, flat screen t.v., balcony with jacuzzi, etc.  It is exactly what we paid for.  Nothing close to the other resort.

We're gonna go eat lunch and go to the world-famous beach.  It's about 20 degrees hotter here too.

IT IS AMAZING!

They said they would throw in an extra day for free since we had so much trouble.  We have to see if there's availability on the flight.  Right now, they don't think so, but we're going to push it.

Love you--will post pictures later!

Some pictures...

Portofino, the Italian restaurant

Okay, I realize they do not look bad, but it is not what we were promised.  The very weird thing is that NO ONE IS HERE (that has to tell you something).  I think the other two Secrets are booked at close to 100%.  This is supposed to be their busiest time of year.
We were the only ones in the huge restaurant last night.  We walked around to see the resort and saw one other couple.  I thought they had a show every night, and maybe they did, but when we walked by the theater it was empty.  Gift shops close early.
The resort is very nice, but service and cleanliness are not the "unlimited luxury" that they promised us for the huge price we paid.  We could have stayed at any resort like this in Cancun for half the price.  They are all "nice."
Anyway, here are some pictures of the grounds.  There's a picture of some prawns that the waiter talked us into ordering at the restaurant last night.  He called them "prowns," so we didn't know what he meant.  You know Vince--he tried to eat them.  Even he was grossed out.  We should be able to go down to talk to some people when a "manager comes on duty" at 9.  Who knows what that will bring.  We've been really nice the entire time, but maybe we'll have to get mean (you know I'M good at that!)

We'll keep you posted...

So far, not good...

The plane was fine.  We were told by Apple that we would be going to Secrets Silversands.  This would be fine, but we had already been told by Apple reps the last two times we'd called that Silversands was no longer taking reservations due to an "internal conflict."  We wondered what kind of service/problems we'd run into.  Apparently they've had problems in the past and put a hold on reservations in order to sort them out.  We've seen maybe 20 people that work here and only a few more guests.  It's a HUGE hotel--kind of weird.

We ate today and I had cold food with a HAIR in it!  Beach looks horrible--seriously.  Very rocky with muddy water.  NOT what a beach in Mexico should look like.

It is a new resort that opened in August, but is is nowhere near a 6 apple resort.

I am not trying to be spoiled or picky, but we paid A LOT of money for this vacation and I wanted it to be perfect.

We had to go to the resort to talk to the Apple Rep at the hotel.  It's SUNDAY, and they don' t have managers that work on Sunday (what kind of Mickey Mouse place is this)?  SO, we have to wait until in the morning to see what they can do.  They make it seem like they will switch us, for a fee, which I think is very unfair.

They have misrepresented this place and lied to us several times.  Who knows what will happen?  They told us to have our parents call from the States (because it's $5 a minute from here!) to get something done.

I am freaking out here! Like I said--just wanted it to be a perfect vacation for us.  We really work hard, and we earned it.  We're already going in debt up to our eyeballs for it!

Pray for us that we'll get to save the rest of our vacation and go somewhere nice without having to pay.

I took some pictures, but the batteries in the camera died and we're about to go eat dinner.

Will try to post them later.

Love you all!
